MISSION STATEMENT
Ashby Arts Festival is a voluntary organisation that promotes all art forms in and around Ashby de la Zouch for the benefit of the town, district, arts professionals, amateur groups and in
dividuals through organising an annual festival. It aims to:
• Provide a meaningful, educational and enjoyable festival for the benefit of the people of Ashby de la Zouch and the surrounding area.
• It creates a platform of opportunity to help arts professionals run sustainable and viable businesses.
• It promotes the Festival to a wider area in an attempt to increase tourism and revenue to the town and district.
• It seeks funding and sponsorship for the Festival through grants and local businesses.
• It aims to be a dynamic Festival involving as many groups and individuals as possible.
• It seeks to bring works of high merit to the town to include, visual arts, drama, music and literature.
• It commissions new works, musical, literary or visual to celebrate the town, its history and its culture, using wherever possible local arts practitioners.
• It aims to create and sustain links with arts groups and individuals within the community and encourages them to become involved with the yearly festival, either as participants or practitioners.
• It aims to utilise existing exhibition and performance space, but also other venues including historical buildings both indoor and out door.
